OZ Data Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 16 695 152 848) operates oz-datasolutions.com.au. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
What we collect
We collect personal information in two ways.
Information you give us
When you submit the enquiry form we collect your name and email address, which are required, and your phone number, organisation, area of interest, and message, which are optional. We do not ask for and do not want sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act.
Information collected automatically
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site. We do not use this information to identify individuals. Our web server also keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Why we collect it
Enquiry details are used for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and to continue any conversation that follows from it. Analytics information is used to improve the site. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your details for marketing unless you separately ask us to.
How it is handled and stored
Enquiry form submissions are delivered to us by email and are not written to a database on this website. Both the mailbox that receives them and this website are hosted on servers located in Australia.
Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access to the mailbox that receives enquiries is restricted and protected by multi-factor authentication.
Disclosure to third parties
We use a small number of service providers who may process data on our behalf: Amazon Web Services for hosting, Zoho for email, and Google for analytics and web fonts. Hosting and email are located in Australia. Google may store and process analytics information outside Australia, including in the United States. We do not otherwise disclose your personal information unless you consent, or we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as it remains commercially relevant, and then deleted. If an enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we generally delete the correspondence within two years. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes.
Cookies
This site sets a small number of cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage. We also store your light or dark theme preference in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop the site from working.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@oz-datasolutions.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period, ordinarily within 30 days. There is no charge for making a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@oz-datasolutions.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
